My Northwoods Home......where I would roam
Completed another collage yesterday. Right now, I seem to be inspired to do these things. Perhaps because in two weeks my shows will be on a regular time schedule, and I will have to be prepared. I hand painted the lures on an enlarged print of the back of a postcard and then hand-lettered the verse. I then transferred the image to fabric using an ink jet transfer. I try to imagine it as cabin art. Once framed in the beautiful hand made barn board frames, they really make a nice wall art. It was 70 degrees yesterday, no bugs yet, and it was difficult to remain inside and work. The studio is lovely to work in, though, so it isn't as bad as when I am in the house doing the house duty things........I watched The Thorn Birds yesterday while working. And I watched Johnny Cash's biography, "Walk the Line". Both were good stories. Art Quilt Studio is having a new contest for entries in by October for the theme of Johnny Cash's song, "Walk the Line". I am thinking about this as I work, and sketching and writing down ideas. The first Art Quilt Studio will be released on June 1, 2009, in which I will have my first published quilt. I am excited.
